The Laura Kubu Memorial $1000 Scholarship.

Mrs. Laura Kubu, parent of alumni Natalie and Spencer, was a consistent supporter and donor to Stella Schola Middle School over a period of seven years. Diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2005, Laura continued to give of her time and energy in support of Stella Schola and its students through the donation of dance party prizes, regular monetary donations for student enrichment and teacher reimbursement, instruction of wreath making, costume donations for the Medieval Faire, and Tinkerbell night.

Mrs. Kubu lost her battle with cancer on May 24, 2008 and her generosity lives on through a memorial fund in the form of an annual scholarship which will be gifted to a Stella Schola alumnus graduating from high school to help pay for college. We admire Laura Kubu for her strength of spirit, for her courage, and for her generosity to Stella Schola.

The Scholarship Committee will award each scholarship based on the following criteria:

1.Graduate of 8th grade at Stella Schola Middle School
2.Academic excellence and motivation
3.Extra-curricular and community service activities
4.Essay response
5.Correct completion of the application

Applications are emailed to eligible students in March of their senior year. It is the responsibility of each family to update the school with contact information.
