The Laura Kubu Memorial $1000 Scholarship
Mrs. Laura Kubu, beloved parent of Stella Schola alumni Natalie and Spencer, was a devoted supporter of Stella Schola Middle School for over seven years. Her unwavering commitment to our school community left a lasting impact on students, staff, and families alike.
Even after being diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2005, Laura continued to share her time, energy, and generosity with Stella Schola. Her contributions were heartfelt and far-reaching—donating prizes for school dance parties, providing regular financial support for student enrichment and teaching wreath-making.
Laura’s courageous spirit and deep compassion touched everyone who knew her. Though she passed away on May 24, 2008, her legacy lives on through the Laura Kubu Memorial Scholarship—an annual award given to a graduating high school senior who previously attended Stella Schola through 8th grade. This scholarship helps support their journey into higher education, continuing Laura’s tradition of uplifting and investing in young people.
We remember and honor Mrs. Kubu for her strength, her kindness, and her extraordinary generosity. Her light continues to shine through the lives she inspired.
