8th Grade Speech and Debate (year-long required)

Speech and Debate will hone students’ communication skills in ways
that will support civil discourse and improve their ability to understand, as well as
analyze, diverse points of view. As an educator who has been a Speech and Debate
coach, Ms. Harris is passionate about teaching students the value of speech, rhetoric, and
debate. The course will conclude with a capstone project that requires 8th grade students
to reflect on their learning at Stella and present to an authentic panel.
