Parents and students cleaned up the grounds around Bell Elementary School after school on Friday, October 13.
Stella Schola educates students from all around the Lake Washington School District. There are a number of options for getting students to and from school.
Parents of students who attend choice schools are responsible for transporting their child to the school if it is not in their neighborhood. The Lake Washington School District offers some shuttle-bus service for students attending a choice school which is outside of their neighborhood. Parents can apply for the Stella Shuttle in August for a nominal fee to the district Transportation office.
Choice schools release students early on Wednesdays to make time for teacher planning, conferencing, and district meetings. Stella students are released at 12:45pm and are expected to be off campus by 12:50 (unless they are working with the Honor Society adviser). All Stella Schola parents are responsible for their child’s transportation on Wednesdays (unless they have signed up for the shuttle) since the neighborhood bus does not run on the same schedule as Stella Schola on Wednesday afternoons.
Many families choose to carpool with other Stella Schola students and some students take advantage of the Metro bus system for transportation. Please look at the map in the Stella office to see what other families may live near you for carpooling options.
